    Thumbs up [PS4] Until Dawn

    officiële site

    release: 26 augustus 2015
    genre: adventure, horror
    dev: Supermassive Games (UK)

Je begint met 8 personages, kun je zorgen dat ze allemaal overleven?

When eight friends are trapped on a remote mountain retreat and things quickly turn sinister, they start to suspect they aren’t alone. Through the course of the night, anyone can live, anyone can die, and things aren't always what they seem. Twists and turns will keep you guessing right to the end as you play each of the friends. The decisions you make on their behalf will determine who survives Until Dawn.

Gripped by fear and with tensions in the group running high, you’ll be forced to make snap decisions that could mean life, or death, for everyone involved. Every choice you make in your terrifying search for answers – even the seemingly trivial ones – will carve out your own unique story.

Until Dawn Revealed For PlayStation 3 – PlayStation.Blog.Europe

To play the game you’ll use the PS Move controller in a totally natural way. It’ll act as your torch, guiding your way through the darkness. Additionally, when you want to use an item, the controller will intuitively map your actions in the real world to those of your character’s hand in the game world.

    IGN | Until Dawn: Move

    Over de controls...

It’s been developed from the ground up for Move, and Sony’s motion controller is the only way you interact with and navigate your way around the game. It acts as a torch, and as you move, a beam of light cuts through the darkness. But you also move in the direction the wand is pointing, holding down the analogue trigger harder to move faster.

It’s incredibly intuitive, and my initial skepticism that the wand on its own wouldn’t be robust enough to handle all of the controls were proven wrong, at least in the brief demo I was shown.
    Over de game...

Decisions you make throughout have an impact on what happens further down the line. You might miss an important clue or not pick up a particularly useful object, and rather than force you to go back you’re able to move on. That obviously has a big impact on how the game plays out, especially if the object in question is a shotgun and without it there’s no way to defend yourself.

As a result you might only get to the end of the game with a single character alive, or you could finish with all eight intact. That’s the charm of Until Dawn – there are literally hundreds of ways to experience the adventure, and countless endings and game-changing decisions that make each play-through a unique one.

UPDATE: Until Dawn isn't cancelled, studio will show more in the new year | VG247

Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games had reportedly cancelled development of its survival horror game. Managing director Pete Samuels has told VG247 that this is not the case and the team will have more to share in the new year.

    UPDATE:

I got in touch with Samuels to clarify the original story below, and as it happens, Until Dawn is not cancelled. He told me in an email, “Until Dawn is most definitely not cancelled and we are still developing it. Not only that, but we’re really excited about what we’re creating and can’t wait to tell more and show more sometime soon. I understand that the silence has been frustrating for those people who have been looking out for more details.

“It’s clearly not planned to be a 2013 release any longer and I’m hoping and expecting to be able to say more in the new year, but that’s really all I’m able to say right now.”

There you go folks, clarity at long last.

    ORIGINAL STORY:

It follows Supermassive stating that development of Until Dawn is going “really well”. That was back in November.

Now, AGB has posted a screen grab of this Amazon customer service email, that states, “We recently learned that the manufacturer of Until Dawn – PlayStation 3 cancelled this release and it will not be available for purchase. As a result, we’ve cancelled the item from your pre-order and you have not been charged.”
