1st Infantry Division

Realism Unit
Website/forum: http://ffl.net63.net

The 1st Infantry Division of the United States Army is the oldest division in the United States Army. It has seen continuous service since its organization in 1917.It was officially nicknamed the The Big Red One after its shoulder patch and is also nicknamed The Fighting First. However, with typical soldier gallows humor, the division has also received troop monikers of The Big Dead One and The Bloody First as puns on the respective officially-sanctioned nicknames. It is currently based at Fort Riley, Kansas.

About the 1st Infantry Division Unit

We based our Unit on the present US Army. We are playing on Red Orchestra 2 and her Mods such as Rising Storm and In Country Vietnam. Our rank system, medals, badges, promotions, will be all the same as the present US Army is using.

When you enlist, you start as a Private and enter basic training for a week, where you are trained and pounded into place by drill sergeants as they make you "1st ID Material".

If you are looking to enter a new aspect of online gaming, have fun, playing Realism based and learn a lot about the US military system, enlist with the 1st Infantry Division.

Realism?

Realism means that we try to get as close to Real in our Unit and in our Gameplay. For example: You must work as a team to keep each other alive. When you get hit and you die you won't respawn until the end of the round. Realism also means that you have to obey higher ranked 1st ID soldiers orders, just like in real. Also we are used to not only address our soldiers with there lastname but also with there 1st ID rank such as Private (Lastname) or Sergeant (lastname) You'll have to undergo some trainings and drills before you can call yourself a 1st ID member. In these trainings you'll learn the in and outs of out Unit.

In the Battle

Example: After your team moves out to secure its objective, you encounter the enemy - also trying to secure their objective. The feeling at this point, acknowledging that you only have one life, has been described as "the most adrenaline ever received in a video game." Between providing your teammates suppressive fire to dodging bullets yourself, you hear your squad leader shouting orders to keep you all alive, and the team leader's communication with his squad leaders, revising the plan to ensure victory.

If you are looking for a different gaming atmosphere, community, and experience Realism may be for you.
