alt3rCraft - Portal
alt3rCraft is a brand new and just-released Minecraft server. It is not just a Minecraft server, it is a huge project led by an extremely dedicated and hard-working team of Minecraft players. Not only have we tried to set up a server, we have tried to create an entire world. We have tried to create a world in which even we would enjoy playing. A world in which even we would stay.
And I am proud to say we have more than succeeded. The past few weeks, we have continuously worked on building both a stable and reliable hardware setup (which we are currently paying for ourselves, capable of hosting hundreds of players lag-less) and an in-game world worth playing in!
As of now, we have finished setting up this world for you. We have finished setting up an incredible amount of in-game events that will be held regularly. Several reusable (yet dynamic) in-game events, unique server-wide battles, events, treasure and a lot more!
Apply for permissions!
During the first few days, the server will be open to everyone, BUT you will have no permissions at all.
After a while, we will see if it is necessary to shut down server access to non-whitelisted players
so don't forget to sign up in time!

Note: You MUST have a forum account on our forums before applying.
How we see events and what we have in store for you
Just for you, we have set up an incredible amount of events (both singleplayer- and multiplayer-based)
for you to explore. These events not only range from small to huge-huge-huge-huge, but they also offer
a wide variety of treasure and are always built for maximum pleasure!
And a small hint to all you treasure hunters out there: there are not just regular 'events' you get treasure from.
In the world of alt3rCraft, you can also stumble upon hidden treasure or hidden dungeons left by previous
inhabitants of the world, such as pirates hiding their treasure, epic dungeons, ...
Aside from the somewhat smaller and regular events, every person in alt3rCraft can participate in one of the
biggest event series to date: an entire event-based system with inter-event relations,
so that certain endings in specific events will lead to another ending being unveiled!
This allows you the world to adapt to the players' decisions.
Players and groups control the world
In our world, we want players to control the game. We want them to be able to decide
for themselves what to do, and all this without someone's decisions conflicting with another
person's preferences.
As such, players can either decide to play solo or team up and create a Faction.
Factions allow players to fully control the world around them, current politics and the effects
of wars and such on the economy. Players can do what they feel like. However, players
can still play solo and do not have to participate in wars or other events they don't like.
Factions allow players to either oversee the current changes of the world and be neutral or
actively participate in war to try and claim your enemies' land! Or become allies
with other factions and fight together against some of the other strongest forces.
We have also succeeded in integrating Factions in an event-based series, which allows
players that are part of a Faction to participate in Faction-specific events.
This means epic battles of grand scale, team- & coop-based events of incredible difficulty, etc.
However, the difficulty and work you put in finishing such an event also reflects on the treasure you get from it.
It's all about money
Or maybe not? That is up to you to decide.
We have a fully working economy set up that took us quite some time to calculate base prices
at which our economy will start. We have decided to - again - let the players control it all.
So yes, players control the economy. Players can set up their own shops, sell/buy to/from other players,
maybe even create a Faction that will purely focus on gathering items and controlling the economy!
Anti-griefing and player/world protection
Ah, the all-powerful anti-griefing tools!
Since alt3rCraft is mostly a player-controlled world (aside from our staff's moderation),
you might ask how we can still maintain a safe and controllable world.
As basics, we have set up anti-cheating (anti-hacking) measures, as well as a registration requirement,
not to limit the amount of users but to limit the amount of griefers. We want a world in which people
are respected, even online.
But as more advanced setups, we have installed more anti-griefing measures that not only protect the player
or the world, but even entire factions! In alt3rCraft you can claim areas for your faction which will
automatically be protected from any non-faction member. This only stands if you are neutral, of course. If you
decide not to be neutral, your faction zone can be attacked by your enemies. Now, your faction zone is
only attackable if someone of your faction is online. If everyone is offline, your faction will go into 'offline mode',
which means you will not lose anything while you're not there.
Exclusive transportation system
Aside from all regular means of transportation, alt3rCraft has invested in more futuristic means.
This does have a few positive sides, but it also brings along lots of negative sides. For example,
the cost to maintain such a system cannot be underestimated and as such a small amount of money
must be paid when using the system.
This transportation system is also - as noted in this section's title - exclusive.
Meaning definitely not everyone will have the right/opportunity to use it.
People behind alt3rCraft
alt3rCraft is part of alt3rnate: a larger network of upcoming gaming-related communities.
We are a dedicated and hard-working team, currently paying for everything ourselves and we intend to keep it that way.
In the near future, we will be expanding to several other games as well (:
But we prefer completely finishing the set-up before releasing.
You can always contact us on our forums (see the link at the top of this thread!).
Ps;
- There are still a few things that'll be posted on our forums before and just after launch (tutorials, etc.)
- We will not accept any kind of 'application' posted on our forum or on here. We have an application page, use it.
