[HL2 + Episode 1] Achievements, Orange Box engine en Mac
Grote release voor één van de beste games die er is. Wat is er nieuw:
- Achievements voor HL2 en Episode 1
- Port naar Orange Box engine: dezelfde high res models (zelfde Vortigaunt, Alyx, ...), HDR, realtime shadows van flashlight, ...
- Release op Mac
Genoeg dus om een replay te verantwoorden
Updates to Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One and Half-Life 2: Episode Two have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
Half-Life 2
Added support for Mac
Added Steam Cloud support for save games
Added new achievements
Improved graphical effects

Er zijn wel nog enkele bugs (geen gamebreaking bugs, though).

Replay moet je doen met de cinematic mod. Daar zit Orange box engine ook al in + HD modellen, + muziek, sfeer, ...

Dat is niet de originele HL2 en ook geen achievements. Ik ga toch voor het HL2 dat Valve in gedachten had

Al een stukje herspeeld (tis lang genoeg geleden), tot aan het stukje waar die vortigaunt 'gives you a jolt'.
Graphics niet veel gemerkt, Alex ziet er ongeveer hetzelfde uit. De meest opmerkelijke graphic change is de flashlight, toont dezelfde schaduwen als in EP2. Enige bug opgemerkt so far is als je in de teleporter zit bij Breen, hij blijft gewoon in dezelfde houding ipv te schrikken.no votes

die achievements had ik ik wel al eerder verwacht, met dat ze wel op de console versie aanwezig waren enzo
Maar dit wordt zeker een replay
Graphic update is ook nice
PS: cinematic mod is voor mij een heel andere versie, geen update (andere muziek, andere hoeveelheid kogels nodig, enz.)Steam: Cl1p Valar morghulisno votes

ik heb ne grote performance loss met die update lol
eerst kon ik alles maxed spelen aan 60 fps en nu zitk constant maar rond de 30fps

Niet zo onlogisch.
Het spel is overschakelt naar de op één na recentste (L4D2 is nog iets anders iirc) van de Source engine.
In het origineel zaten een hoop dingen niet, normaal kan je die ook wel uitschakelen via het menu/config files.(\__/)this is bunny, copy bunny into your sig and help

Meh, ik was juist bezig aan een replay van HL2, en zat al voorbij ravenholm.
Nu kan ik weer opnieuw beginnen, en daarbovenop moet ik ook nog is zo traag als iets gaan omdat ik alle achievements moet behalen.

Normaal zou je save game dezelfde map laden als waar je zat. Dit toch volgens de nieuws update.Driver update? Met deze update worden multicore CPU's ook ondersteund, dus de performance hit zou niet te groot mogen zijn.
Een lijst van voorlopige bugs (van Steampowered):
-There is no HDR (in any level), Bloom, Motion Blur, or Color Correction. --> Dit is blijkbaar enkel bij sommige mensen
-Multi Core Rendering sometimes slow downs the game.
-Some faces look extremely bright, or dark.
-3D Skybox fog doesn't work, unless you have sv_cheats set to 1.
-Some achievements don't work.
-Sometimes the game disables achievements.
-Sometimes you can see through random objects.
-Combine Scanners have their spotlight always on in bright areas.
-You can't throw a hand grenade when you're underwater.
-Breen's animation is broken when you see him during the teleportation scene.
-Many old bugs still remain unsolved.
-Following console commands don't work, unless you have sv_cheats set to 1:
