Phil Harrison naar Infogrames
Infogrames

Echt zeer onverwacht nieuws.Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) today announced that Phil Harrison, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS), will resign from Sony Computer Entertainment Group as of February 29, 2008. Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO of SCEI, will immediately assume responsibilities as president of SCE WWS, in addition to his current duties.
Phil Harrison
President
Worldwide Studios
Phil has been immersed in the creativity, technology and business of game development for more than 20 years.
In September 2005, Sony Computer Entertainment unified its regional product development operations under a global structure, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, and appointed Phil to serve as President of the new organization. Working closely with the talented studios in Japan, Europe, North America and Polyphony Digital, Inc., Phil is responsible for setting the global product strategy and
managing development operations of 16 studios in five countries.
Phil is a corporate executive and representative director of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc, and Executive vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
Since joining Sony in 1992, Phil has held executive management positions in Europe and North America – where he served as Vice President, Third Party Relations and Research and Development for SCEA from 1996 to 2000. He has been a core member of the teams that successfully launched all of the PlayStation family of hardware formats and innovative software that have helped expand the market for computer entertainment worldwide.
From 1989 to 1992, Phil served as head of development for Mindscape International and prior to that as a consultant game designer and graphic artist in the UK.
foto: http://kotaku.com/assets/resources/2008/02/philgdc.jpgIt's a very interesting and frustrating thing for me to experience because I have been banging the drum about social gaming for a long time, with SingStar, EyeToy and Buzz.
And our Japanese colleagues said that there is no such thing as social gaming in Japan - people do not play games on the same sofa together in each other's homes. It will never happen. And then out comes the Wii.Last edited by Goldrusher; 25-02-2008 at 23:30.
