CS:S > Valve Wilt Call Of Duty 2 overnemen

Steam to distribute Call of Duty 2

Quite recently Call of Duty developers Activision and Counter Strike developers Valve have announced a partnership in distributing selected games from the Activision setup via the popular online service Steam.

As many know, Steam is one of, if not the leading platform for PC games and digital entertainment servicing over 10 million customers. For years now Steam and Valve in partnership have delivered some of the most popular PC hits in gaming history. Games like Counter Strike, Half Life 2, Day of Defeat and many more other great titles have been available to buy and download from the Steam engine.

And now, with this announcement deal of Activision also getting the chip in on things over at Steam, with the four selected games from Activisions list being Call of Duty, Call of Duty United Offensive, GunT and one of our very high points in games, Call of Duty 2.

The popularity in these games is sure to pick up rapidly once they are available to purchase from Steam and the Steam “culture” seems to be set on going outside the box and sampling some of Activisions products.

Statement Valve, www.steampowered.com: "Activision, Inc and Valve® today announced an agreement to distribute four of Activision's PC games -- Call of Duty® 2, GunT, Call of Duty® and Call of Duty® United Offensive® -- using Steam.

Steam is the first full-featured broadband platform for the delivery and management of games and digital content, and has pioneered its broadband services to over 10 million customers with core titles such as Valve's Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike.

"Activision has been a player on every major gaming platform dating back to the Atari 2600," said Gabe Newell, co-founder and president of Valve. "We're delighted to welcome them to Steam, and offer this legendary company's products."

"Our agreement with Steam enhances our current online distribution model by allowing us to bring our games to the broadest possible audience," said Dave Anderson, Activision's Senior Director of Business Development. "As broadband penetration continues to grow worldwide, offering our titles digitally to the millions of gamers connected through Steam makes sense to us."

dit werd dus gezegt op VALVE site en STEAM ik weet niet echt wat ik er van moet denken .
