http://q4max.clubfnatic.com/news/556/The Q4MAX team is proud to announce version 0.5 of our competition mod for Q4 as well as the official development team for Q4MAX. The team has vast prior experience in mod creation and management, and currently consists of:
arQon as lead developer, famed for his code on CPMA for Q3, as well as his work on OSP
Blowfish as developer, who single-handedly coded PK++ for Painkiller with no SDK, and created the extremely handy Auto Updater "Steamfish", which is released with this update
Swelt as lead mapper, famed for his maps for CPMA, who is also currently working with Teddy on Remix maps for Quake 4
Preatorian as developer and artist, who created versions 0.1 to 0.4 of Q4MAX
Hemostick as artist, who has created the new high resolution brightskins
Alba as artist and webmaster, who has created the design for the new Q4MAX.com website
zr0 as project manager
In terms of the future of Q4MAX, we will be focusing heavily on creating the most comprehensive list of core enhancements such as MVD support, enhanced Netcode, statistical improvements, as well as many more as soon as the SDK is released. We also hope to create a platform by which other developers for gametype modes such as Clan Arena or Instagib can use our work as a starting point for their own quality mods for Q4.
As earlier mentioned we have released Q4MAX Version 0.5, featuring new and much improved brightskins by Hemostick as well as Blowfish's auto-updater Steamfish, previously used on PK++. We have also done a significant amount of bug fixing to the overall mod, focusing especially on the GUI and HUD.
Steamfish is an auto-updater which downloads all necessary updates and installs them into your Quake 4 folder. The tool is useful as it allows the client never have to worry about finding a download server or not knowing how to install, all that it requires is a simple executable to be run and it will do the rest. It also means that updates and bug fixes can be made almost in real-time by our development team, allowing the progress of the mod to be even smoother.
On a side note, we realize that we are in “competition” with the X-Battle mod team, and understand that it would be more beneficial for the community to unite into one mod team. We initially attempted to do exactly that: however, after significant talks and many compromises on our part, we were still unable to come to a fair agreement and have thus decided to remain a separate team. Looking at the talent we have assembled, we feel confident that we will still be able to serve the community better than anyone else even without the X-Battle team co-operating.
To clear up a few misconceptions: Fnatic and Q4MAX share no relationship other than using the infrastructure of the Fnatic site for the hosting and running of the Q4MAX site. The MOD team will remain completely independent from Fnatic. We wish to thank fnatic for their support, but they will not direct or influence Q4MAX's development.

Dus CB en GGL gebruiken x-Battle, maar CAL ( & CPL ? ) gaan Q4MAX gebruiken ... is vooral handig :|

meende da nu? Ik begin zo meer en meer te denken da't allemaal prutsers zijn tbh. Kunnen ze nu es niks uniforms afspreken, kan me eigenlijk nie veel schelen welke mod ze gebruiken, maar allemaal dezelfde zou wel handig zijn, weette wel, dan weten de clans welke mod ze op hun server moeten zetten.
Bij ons staat er atm nog niks op, omda we nie weten of er volgende week mss nog nen 121654e mod bijkomt die dan ineens officieel wordt ofzo.no votes

Hopelijk kiest cb uiteindelijk ook nog voor deze want van al die mods ziet Q4Max nog de beste uit.
en pff als ze zo gaan beginnen met al die mods door mekaar te mixen op cb enzo, doet me terugdenken aan de sof2 tijd waar men zelfs 2 mods had op cb die mochten gebruikt worden

Net ff die screens bekeken en die brightskins zijn super. Soms kan ik echt mensen niet uitmaken van de muur in Q4

als ge de post deftig leest allemaal dan ziet ge dat ze er ene mod van aan't proberen maken zijn, maar dat ze nog ni helemaal overeenkomen met x-battle team
anyway, duurt toch nog zeker paar maand (minimum) voor we een echte bugfree mod (en game) hebben, dus voorlopig kan het mij niet veel scheleni demand more monkeys!no votes

Q4max ziet er mij professioneler uit. De namen scheppen ook meer vertrouwen door wat ze al gedaan hebben.

freeky, als ik de post goed lees, zie ik dat ze wel degelijk toenadering hebben gezocht, maar dat ze toch niet overeengekomen zijn over whatever en dat ze dus toch apart zullen blijven developen...

idd, en die xbattle doet een beetje teveel moeite. bvb wapens die ne groene schijn hebben enzo, zogezegd om et duidelijker te maken, maar als ge kleurenblind zijt, maakt dat het alleen maar erger.
Ik heb deze namiddag die q4max zitten testen en ik vond da precies beter, alleen heeft xbattle nu een "aanpasbare" hud, da is wel goe, maar toch blijf ik voorstander van q4max, maar ik vrees dat CB en ESL al gekozen hebben en da ze nie gaan veranderen.no votes

yep i can tell.
Ik prijs die brightskins enorm want ik ben licht kleurenblind en soms kan ik het verschil tss een ventje en een muur nie zien als de kleuren vrij gelijkend zijn...
Vet irritant als ge zo met uw rail denkt van HAH ik heb... huh? waar is ie
