)

A chart of Bitcoin prices compared to other famous historical bubbles and scams – like Tulip-mania, the Mississippi Bubble, the South Sea Bubble – shows that the price increase of Bitcoin and other crypto junk-coins was 2X or 3X bigger than previous bubbles and the ensuing collapse and bust as fast and furious and deeper. Bitcoin rapidly exploded in 2017 from $1k to 10K and then peaked almost at $20K in December 2017 only to collapse to below $6k (down 70% from that peak) in a matter of four months and it has been close to $6k since then. And a 70% capital loss was a “good” deal compared to thousands
of alt-coins (otherwise better known as shitcoins) that have lost on average 95% of their value since the peak. Actually calling this useless vaporware garbage a “shitcoin” is a grave insult to manure that is a most useful, precious and productive good as a fertilizer in agriculture.1

I want to pin down what the hell happened last night. I think it’s helpful to figure out what might be next.
* Late Sept: Bitfinex cuts ties with Puerto Rico's Noble Bank Int. for reasons unknown.
* Tether immediately begins to un-peg and people begin to take notice.
* Oct 14 people begin to panic that tether/bitfinex might be insolvent.
* Exchanges with USDT trading pairs tic upward with premiums due to USDT's inablity to hold peg, compounded by illiquidity.
* A run on the bank begins against USDT.
* Fidelity announcement arguably adds buying pressure to BTC sending the spot price further upwards.
* Now we are breaking through the famous meme triangle, where a cascade of stop-limit orders are waiting to be triggered.
* The vast majority of those stop-limits are buying BTC with USDT. All rapidly selling off USDT against an already paper-thin orderbook of tether.
* USDT plunges to $0.85
* Stop-limits fizzle out at about 7200 (USDT/BTC) as shorts getting squeezed into liquidation picks up.
* USDT regains it's legs as BTC bounces off 7400 but it continues to drop.
* Panic, confusion, volatility, bots and greed bring it to 7800.
* Market begins to 'stabilize' as USDT holds above $0.92
* A single entity attempted to re-establish the 1:1 peg buying $10m worth of USDT @ $0.999 on Kraken’s USDT/USD market (it didn’t hold).
Now here we are with tether still unpegged from the dollar and that is not stable condition. **One tether is either worth a dollar or nothing at all.**
Also, it should be noted that after rocketing up to 7800, it cleared out the orderbook; meaning there is no real resistance on the downside either.
So basically it’s the trifecta of tether un-pegging, the orders lined up against the meme triangle, and the Fidelity announcement.
I believe there is still massive amounts of fraud in the system that needs to be worked out but I’m pretty bullish and think we have a solid change to turn this market around.
What else did I miss?no votes
