"Experience the deciding battles of the summer offensive of 1944 as either the Germans or the Red Army. Starting out as a simple soldier on either side, you will experience nerve-wracking, tactical combat – always caught between your orders from your senior, and reality on the battlefield. In the course of the story, both protagonists will be promoted to command tanks and even fighter planes in addition to their own troops. Southern Poland, where the hostile armies will clash with the latest weapons, is the setting. The Germans’ objective is clear – consolidate and regroup the remaining troops, stop the Red Army’s advance at all cost, or at least slow it down. Gisteren heb ik deze titel reeds vermeld in het ArmA-topic maar aangezien het hier om een standalone game gaat die imo alle aandacht verdient, leek een eigen topic wel op zijn plaats.
Iron Front is een WOII-game, gebasseerd op de ArmA2-engine. Verwacht dus enorm grote maps, de vrijheid om te gaan en staan waar je wil en het soort gameplay dat je vandaag de dag nog maar zelden ziet. En dat allemaal in een WOII-jasje.
Velen beweren dat de Invasion 44 mod voor ArmA2 deze game overbodig maken maar dat lijkt me wat kort door de bocht. Deze game zal vast en zeker iets toevoegen aan het ArmA-universum en hopelijk kan Iron Front met behulp van de community zijn plaatsje veroveren binnen het tactical shooter genre.
Ten slotte wil ik nog vermelden dat je deze game al voor minder dan €20 kan kopen dus voor het prijskaartje moet je het evenmin laten.
Laat weten wat jullie er van denken en misschien kunnen we elkaar in de nabije toekomst een keertje treffen in de multiplayer/coop mode!
